Mabel Melton founded Gryphon Partners after a career that began at the Miami-Dade County Commission at sixteen. Dusty Melton has worked in Miami-Dade government relations since 1982. Together they bring more than forty years of experience, and a long record of helping people who could never pay for it.
Mabel came to Miami from Cuba in 1967, at age three, and grew up in The Roads as the city grew into the multicultural metropolis it is today.
She began her career in county politics at sixteen, at the Miami-Dade County Commission, and went on to serve as chief of staff to several County Commissioners. She later led community outreach for PortMiami.
She brought her marketing and translation skills to the American Red Cross, Greater Miami and the Keys Chapter, and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, South Florida Chapter, then built a real-estate practice known for patience, preparation and getting to know every client.
In 2017 she founded Gryphon Partners. She also serves as Secretary of the Hispanic Education Coalition of Palm Beach County.

Dusty came to public life as a journalist at the Miami Herald, covering the community he would spend his career serving. In 1982 he joined Steve Ross, one of the most respected advocates before the Miami-Dade County Commission, and learned the work from the ground up.
When Ross passed in 1995, Dusty carried the practice forward as Global Projects, Inc. Over four decades he has represented businesses, healthcare and service providers, and community organizations before the County Commission, and has given countless hours, free of charge, to charities, community groups, families in a bind and people experiencing homelessness.

Four decades and counting before the County Commission.
Gryphon Partners represents clients primarily before the Miami-Dade County Commission and the County Mayor and administration, with work in the cities of Miami and Miami Beach and before Miami-Dade County Public Schools. The approach is the one Mabel learned inside County Hall: know the issue cold, know the people, and tell the truth about both.

Working with county departments on procurement, public services and long-range projects.
Representation before the City of Miami and the City of Miami Beach.

Mabel's career began in public and nonprofit service, and that has never changed. Gryphon Partners has represented organizations serving the most vulnerable in the community, including food relief and children's services.
Dusty has spent forty years giving his time freely to charities, community groups, families in a bind, and South Floridians experiencing homelessness who needed a voice at County Hall.
For both of them it has always been the same job: help people be heard.
Know the issue, know the people, and help them be heard.
